Job Description:

The Director of Member Services and Engagement strategizes and oversees the association’s member engagement activities, including membership processing, recruitment and retention efforts, and customer service to members. The Director reviews and recommends membership policies and administrative procedures for achieving optimal member service. Oversees the membership department, customer service including the reception desk, and member help services. Works with the membership team to develop and maintain up-to-date functional documentation, standard operating procedures and system documentation. Coordinating with the Marketing & Communications team, the Director strategizes membership communications campaigns in all media.

Experience and Skills:


  • 5-10 years of association membership, marketing, and/or member services experience, preferably in a healthcare professional association, to include supervisory experience.

  • Experience in proactively developing and improving processes


  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field or equivalent experience

  • CAE certification preferred, but not required

Qualifications & Other Skills:

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to clearly and concisely communicate to all levels of the association

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Strong analytical skills

  • Intermediate experience with MS Office

  • Demonstrated project management skills

  • Ability to work well and communicate with staff at all levels of the association
